    Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

    • The successful candidate will assist with design and implementation of remediation activities such as: air sparging and soil vapor extraction; soil excavation and offsite disposal; groundwater in-situ treatment systems; pumping tests and pump & treat systems; dewatering; shoring installation; and, waste classification to support offsite disposal

    • Assist with field work (e.g., groundwater sampling and soil sampling, well installation and contractor oversight, logging soils and collecting samples)

    • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

    • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

    • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids,

    • Gather data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports

    • Prepare data analysis and presentation for technical reports. Inclusive of complex hydrogeologic analysis, geochemical and contaminant analysis

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field, MS preferred

    • Professional certification, professional engineer or engineer in training

    • 5+ years of experience

    • Strong communication practices and skills, especially writing and mathematical aptitude

    • Must be able to clear medical, drug, and security screening requirements

    • Excellent technical report writing skills

    • CAD or GIS skills

    • Knowledge of the environmental regulatory regime in Michigan and Midwest

    • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

    • Must have valid drivers license

    Preferred Qualifications

    • OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) 40 hour (current)

Candidates must understand the components of quality project management and be capable of completing multiple, technically accurate, on time and within budget project assignments. UST/LUST assessment/reporting experience preferred. Business development potential not required but considered a plus.  This is considered a mid-level Project Management position.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in completing ASTM compliant Phase I ESAs
    • Ability to develop strategic Phase II Subsurface Investigations scopes-of-work designed to assess Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs)
    • Working knowledge and experience with Michigan's BEA and Due Care Plan program

    Natural Resource Technology, Inc. (NRT) is seeking an entry-level to mid-level candidate (0 to 2 years) with an understanding of toxicology and risk assessment principles. A minimum of a BS in biology, chemistry, environmental science or related discipline is required to join our Environmental Toxicology and Research team. This is a great opportunity to work as a scientist on toxicology, biodiversity, ecological risk assessment, and natural resource damage assessment studies.

    As an environmental scientist, you will initially engage in data compilation, preliminary analysis, review of scientific literature to identify toxicity effect thresholds, compilation of toxicology information from multiple sources, accurate citing of report references. With experience, the successful candidate will assume responsibilities for coordinating team tasks and priorities, data interpretation, and documenting findings in a clear and concise manner for reports and presentations.     Full time position available to self-motivated Environmental Professional proficient in completing industry standard Phase I ESAs and Phase II Subsurface Investigations, including soil and groundwater sample collection techniques.  Working knowledge of Michigan’s BEA and Due Care programs preferred. Candidates must understand the components of quality project management and be capable of completing multiple, technically accurate, on time and within budget project assignments. UST/LUST assessment/reporting experience preferred. Business development potential not required but considered a plus.  This is considered a mid-level Project Management position.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in completing ASTM compliant Phase I ESAs
    • Ability to develop strategic Phase II Subsurface Investigations scopes-of-work designed to assess Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs)
    • Working knowledge and experience with Michigan's BEA and Due Care Plan program

      1. Process laboratory submittals from Outlook in-box to collaborative laboratory management system (CLMS)
      2. Receive and process Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs)
      3. Perform manual review of selected lab submittal PDF reports (as assigned by Senior Project Scientist)
      4. Interface with environmental labs and project managers

      1. Perform project data entry into CLMS
      2. Edit CLMS project profiles based on associated lab submittals
