NEPA and Section 106 Expert

Job Summary:

ASTI Environmental has an opening for a full time, skilled, detail-oriented, well organized National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 106 Expert to support Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and/or Housing and Urban Development (HUD) environmental reviews.  We are looking for a mid-level to senior-level professional.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • NEPA Compliance reports 
  • Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), Section 106 reviews
  • Noise assessments

Where You’ll Be:

Position available in:

  • Brighton, MI HQ (preferred) OR
  • Grand Rapids, MI satellite office                        OR
  • Detroit, MI satellite office

What We Need from You: 

  • Proven writing and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
  • Understanding of Phase II Sampling/Investigations is a plus
  • Experience with Asbestos/Lead/Radon Surveys (desired)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science (or Architectural History) is required
