ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER

ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER- Inland Seas Engineering, Inc., an established engineering firm offering services in Land Surveying, Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering is looking for an experienced environmental professional to join the growth of the organization in either the Traverse City or Flushing office. Projects include environmental site assessments, RI/FS, CAP/RAP, Brownfield plans, Act 381 work plans, hydrogeological studies, foundation studies and groundwater modeling. Full benefit package. EOE

Position Summary:

Project Management skills required include budgeting, staff and subcontractor management, client communications and project accounting. Candidate must have at least 5 and preferably 10 years of environmental and project management experience and strong knowledge of current Michigan regulations. Flexibility and a positive attitude are essential. Areas of influence and responsibility include: day to day management projects, oversight of field work, client service and development, project management, financial management, and technical writing.

Primary Functions & Duties

  • Manages a variety of projects simultaneously. Supports the company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities. Ensures that the control policies/procedures and reporting requirements meet company standards. Assures integrity of financial, operational and compliance requirements for the company. Resource for client contact and communication. Participates in community and business development initiatives. Assists with other project work as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Michigan Professional Engineer License (preferred, but other credentials also appropriate) Bachelor’s degree or above Progressive related experience Strong demonstrated leadership in organizational and communication skills Technical writing proficiency Strong knowledge of Michigan environmental regulations Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapid change and a busy environment Strong self-starter and problem solver Able to work collaboratively with management and all levels of the organization Occasional travel to meetings and worksites, sometimes overnight
