Staff Engineer – NTH is seeking a staff level engineer or professional for a full-time position with our Air Quality team in Grand Rapids, MI.  The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science/Health, Geology, Natural Resources, or related degree, from a 4-year accredited college or university with 0- 2 years of experience in air quality permitting and regulatory requirements.  Experience with dispersion modeling a plus. Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians.  Key job elements include, perform and review emission calculations, review and summarize air quality regulations, assist with dispersion modeling, assist with the preparation of technical reports, air permit applications, proposals, cost estimates, and plans, including day-to-day correspondence.
