Staff Asbestos Professional – NTH is seeking a staff level engineer, scientist or geologist for a full-time position with our Environmental Due Diligence/Remediation team in Northville, MI. The position requires an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science/Health, Geology, Natural Resources or related degree from a 2 or 4-year accredited college or university. A minimum of 2 years of experience in asbestos and hazardous materials surveys, knowledge of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, experience with building demolitions and asbestos air monitoring is expected. MI Asbestos Inspector Certification and/or NIOSH 582 Certification required and 40-Hour HAZWOPER with Annual Refresher is also preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communications, computer and interpersonal skills, and ability to work as a member of a team or individually with minimal supervision. Typical tasks include hazardous materials/asbestos survey, air monitoring and on-site microscopic analysis during asbestos abatement projects, and organizing and writing proposals and technical reports.
