    Environmental Site Assessor

    Job Summary:

    ASTI Environmental has two (2) openings for full time, skilled, detail-oriented, well organized Environmental Site Assessors.

    About Us: 

    ASTI Environmental (ASTI) has provided environmental and engineering services to industry and government since 1985. ASTI maintains three locations to easily assist our clients throughout the Great Lakes region.  Our corporate headquarters is located in Brighton, Michigan, with additional offices in Grand Rapids and Detroit, Michigan.  For the last three years, ASTI has been named one of Metro Detroit's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For!  In 2017, we were also crowned one of Crain's Coolest Places to Work.

    What You’ll Be Doing: 

    • Phase I environmental site assessments
    • Due diligence assessments and documentation
    • Due care assessments
    • Soils and groundwater investigations
    • Site closures

    Where You’ll Be:

    Positions available in:

    • Brighton, MI HQ        and
    • Grand Rapids, MI satellite office

    What We Need from You: 

    • Proven writing and communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Four years’ experience in relevant environmental consulting preferred
    • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree, or equivalent, required

    Brownfield Redevelopment Specialist

    Job Summary:

    ASTI Environmental has an opening for a full time Brownfield Redevelopment Specialist to assist our real estate and municipal clients with brownfield restorations programs.

    Asbestos Inspector

    Job Summary:

    ASTI Environmental has several openings for full time, skilled, detail-oriented, well organized Asbestos Inspectors and Management Planners.  We are looking for both experienced and entry-level professionals.

    • Complete asbestos inspections and hazardous materials surveys
    • Sampling for asbestos materials
    • Perform abatement oversight, air monitoring and on-site microscopic analysis utilizing NIOSH 582 methods
    • Independently operate sampling equipment
    • Environmental data management and analysis
    • Assist in report writing, including preparation of abatement specifications
    • Client interface

    What We Need from You: 

    • Proven writing and communication skills

    • Current Asbestos Inspector License, NIOSH 582 Certification and HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certifications preferred

    A Day in the life of an Environmental Consultant at PM Environmental: 

    • Completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and related environmental due diligence projects.

    • Provide high quality Phase I ESAs by ensuring that reports are completed to industry and PM standards.

    • Develop and maintain client relationships.

    • Site inspections

    • Data collection and management

    • Project coordination

    • Maximizing profitability by ensuring appropriate budgeting/pricing and utilization of resources and cost controls and informing group manager of any variations.

    • Be a public relations ambassador by being proactive in presenting and communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to all publics.

    • Communicate and present potential new business or resource information, competitive situations, or technology/regulatory factors to leadership.

    What you bring to the PM Environmental team:

    • Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Environmental Policy, or related degree

    • 3 - 5 years of experience in Environmental Consulting; experience with Phase I ESAs is a must.

    • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • A valid driver’s license is required.

    • Ability to work in various settings and climates.

    • Must have strong organization skills.

    • Must have keen attention to detail.

    • Ability to work flexible hours

    • Ability to take day trips to job sites
