    We are looking to grow our team at Point Blue and are seeking an Environmental Engineer that can take the lead in our environmental remediation services.

    Environmental Engineer

    • Assist Professional Engineer with environmental remediation projects.
    • Able to perform engineering calculations.
    • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and engineering specifications.

    Qualifications for Environmental Engineer:

    • Environmental Engineering degree, minimum 1 to 3 years of related experience
    • Engineer-in-Training certification
    • Detailed knowledge of relevant regulations with EGLE, MIOSHA, OSHA, and EPA
    • Detail-oriented and able to perform engineering calculations
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • 40-Hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) a plus
    • Must be able to drive vehicle to project sites
    • Self-proficient and motivated
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Outlook

    LimnoTech has an opportunity for an environmental engineer to help us serve our clients in the areas of site investigation and remediation. The selected candidate will work in our Ann Arbor, MI headquarters.

    Responsibilities

    The environmental engineer filling this position will primarily work on projects involving investigation and remediation of soil, groundwater, and sediment contamination. Typical job responsibilities include the following, depending on individual ability, skills, and experience:

    • ·         Planning & implementing site investigations for contaminants such as PFAS, VOCs, PCBs, and metals
    • ·         Compiling, reviewing and synthesizing soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water data from site investigations
    • ·         Helping screen and select site remediation approaches, including interacting with vendors and contractors to obtain technical and cost information, planning and implementing bench scale and field scale studies,
    • ·         Preparing conceptual and final designs for remediation/mitigation
    • ·         Regulatory compliance activities including permitting and reporting
    • ·         Oversight of contractors implementing remediation
    • ·         Preparing written deliverables and project-related presentations
    • ·         Supporting project managers in coordinating project activities and eventually taking on project management responsibilities
    • ·         Presenting project findings and results to clients, regulators, and project partners

    The engineer’s level of responsibility in this position will depend on the individual’s level of experience, maturity, and capability.     Qualifications

    • ·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited university program is required.

    • Professional Engineer Registration is required. 

    ·     7+ years of demonstrated site development experience including site layout, grading, stormwater management, utility design, pavement design, permitting, budgeting, jurisdictional agency interaction, and other related project activities.

    ·         Ability to supervise and manage a multi-disciplinary team as well as complete projects with minimal oversight.

    ·         AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required, MicroStation or OpenRoads experience a plus.

    ·         Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling software experience preferred, including proficient use with HEC-HMS, SWMM, Storm and Sanitary Analysis or others.

    ·  Be willing and able to work on construction sites, performing review activities.

    · Understand and read design drawings.

    · Previous experience with a consulting firm preferred.

    Requirements

    What You Bring to The Team

    · Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or comparable discipline.

    · State of Michigan for Asbestos Building Inspector Certification preferred. 

    · 2+ years experience in environmental consulting with familiarity with environmental assessments, compliance audits, permitting, and field sampling/inspections. and remediation.

    · Must be able to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.

    · Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

    · Must be able to manage workload and solve problems to support client and team project needs. 

    · Must have exceptional communication and time management skills. 

    · 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.

    · Experience with Phase I/II ESAs in accordance with ASTM E1527 and ASTM E1903.

    · Familiarity with BEAs and Due Care Plans in accordance with Michigan Part 201 rules.

    · Certified stormwater operator.

    · Experience working with regulatory agencies including Michigan EGLE and EPA and navigating compliance requirements including underground storage tank removal and closure requirements.

    · Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.

    How You Will Make An Impact

    · Prepare and review contract documents, designs, and specifications for civil projects. 

    · Prepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, and reports, including day to day correspondence. 

    · Work on construction sites, performing review activities. 

    · Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed site civil and development features.

    · Prepare site design calculations and lead effort of project team. 

    · Perform a variety of engineering analyses and calculations, with and without the use of engineering software. 

    · Develop design details and specify appropriate construction materials. 

    · Coordinate construction quality control services, conduct periodic site visits, and review daily field reports prepared by others.

    Requirements

    What You Bring to The Team

    · Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Site/Civil Design from a 4-year accredited college or university. 

    · Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam, EIT, or EIT required. Professional Registration or ability to attain    professional registration in the State of Michigan within 12 months preferred. 

    · 3+ years of demonstrated solar energy and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) site development experience including site layout, grading, storm water management, pile layout, landscape buffer design, and other project deliverable completion responsibilities. 

    · Ability to support site civil package deliverables development with minimal oversight. 

    · AutoCAD proficiency required. 

    · Understand, read, and prepare design drawings and specifications for energy related project site development with a focus on solar energy generation. 

    · Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm preferred.  

    · Must have strong written and oral communication skills, be able to work in a team environment as well as independently, demonstrated team-oriented approach to problem-solving, and have strong interpersonal skills for contact with clients and fellow engineers/technicians. 

    · Accuracy, dependability, and strong organizational skills

    · Have the ability to manage multiple assignments at any given time, delegate tasks and assignments, and have ability to work in a team environment.

    · Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

    · May be required to enter and work within confined spaces, once appropriately trained.

    · May be required to perform job duties in the field and office, during non-standard work hours, as necessary.

    · Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to and conduct field work at job sites/offices in Michigan.
