    Environmental Project Scientist Position

    For over 30 years, Envirologic has served as a full-service environmental consulting firm dedicated to assisting clients in solving complex development, redevelopment, and cleanup challenges. Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Envirologic supports brownfield redevelopment, environmental investigation and remediation, compliance, environmental due diligence services, and more throughout Michigan, the Great Lakes region, and other states.

    Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an Environmental Project Scientist to join our staff in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The successful candidate would join our experienced environmental due diligence team performing projects such as Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments. Two to five years of relevant experience is desired.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments of vacant, developed, and industrial properties
    • Historical research
    • Interviews with knowledgeable persons
    • Review databases and technical reports
    • Site inspections
    • Report preparation
    • Conduct Phase II soil and groundwater sampling projects
    • Health and Safety Planning
    • Sampling and Analysis Plans
    • Conduct field work
    • Data evaluation and report preparation
    • Prepare Baseline Environmental Assessments and Due Care Documents
    • Provide support for brownfield-related activities
    • Hazardous materials surveys
    • Support due diligence, site investigation, regulatory compliance, and ecological services projects

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS/BA in traditional sciences (environmental science, biology, geology, chemistry)
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and technical writing capabilities
    • Valid driver's license
    • Strong health & safety knowledge and prior 40-Hour OSHA (29 CFR 1910.120) HAZWOPER health and safety training preferred

    Technical Experience

    • 1 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, Geology and Natural Resources

    Senior Engineer

    Location: Grand Haven, MI

    Lakeshore Environmental, Inc. (LEI) is actively seeking an experienced civil/environmental engineer to join its West Michigan team.  The successful candidate will have experience managing a wide variety of projects related to water, wastewater, and permitting for environmental engineering projects.   The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated manager who can function independently and as part of a fast-paced team.

    This is a full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and potential to grow.  This position is also eligible for health insurance, flexible spending account, short/long term disability, a Simple IRA with company match, and accrual of paid time off (PTO). 

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide engineering design services in wastewater treatment system analysis, design, implementation (industrial, non-municipal)
    • Manage natural resources permitting, including (but not limited to) Groundwater Discharge permits, National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits
    • Storm water engineering
    • Industrial compliance, spill plans, etc.
    • Oversee field work including groundwater and surface water sampling, aquifer testing, and construction oversight.
    • Assist and oversee data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
    • Maintain and grow existing clients
    • Review, sign off, and provide comments on reports
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field with 5 years’ experience.
    • Experience in Project Management
    • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
    • Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
    • Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
    • Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments, and maintaining flexibility, while meeting strict deadlines.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field with 10+ years’ experience.
    • Certified Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan, or ability to achieve within 6 months
