    EGLE’s Remediation and Redevelopment Division (RRD) has created a new Detroit District.  By doing so, we feel that we can better serve the citizens of Detroit and Wayne County.  To begin the process of building this new district, we are looking for a Detroit District supervisor.  The Detroit District will share office space with the current Warren District located at 27700 Donald Court in Warren.  Remote working is possible with EGLE approval.  This position (see announcement & link below) is open to ALL applicants, which includes applicants from outside EGLE RRD, and will be open until July 15, 2022, 11:59 PM.

    Note that salaries reflected in the job posting will be 5% higher in October following department pay increases.  In addition for the potential to be allowed to work remotely, EGLE offers competitive benefit packages, observes 13 to 14 state holidays, and offers both annual leave and sick leave that do not expire at the end of the calendar year.

    Education

    Certifications

    Technical Experience

    Education

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (with a focus on Site/Civil Design), or related degree, from a 4-year accredited college or university.  Master’s Degree preferred.

     Registration

     Technical Experience

    • 3 months - 4 years of demonstrated site development experience including site layout, grading, sewer and other utility design, pavement design, permitting, budgeting, jurisdictional agency interaction, and other related project activities.
    • Ability to support a multi-disciplinary team on projects with minimal oversight.
    • Experience using AutoCAD preferred. Civil 3D or Infrastructure Suite experience a plus.

    Position Available: Environmental Due Diligence Specialist

    Location: Wixom/Detroit, Michigan

    Environmental Resources Group (ERG) is seeking a reliable and motivated individual with experience in environmental due diligence. This position is an addition to the Due Diligence group with the primary role to conduct environmental assessments (e.g., Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Baseline Environmental Assessments, and due care evaluations). An ideal candidate has proficient writing skills, in depth attention to detail, and enthusiasm for customer communication/service and teamwork. The candidate will be responsible for developing project budgets/scope of work, pursuing sales opportunities, and developing the Due Diligence group staff.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare Phase I ESAs, Transaction Screens, Records Search with Risk Assessments, Baseline Environmental Assessments (BEAs), Documentation of Due Care Compliance, and other technical reports.
    • Coordinate/conduct Phase II ESAs.
    • Compile and evaluate data for technical reports.
    • Assist in quality assurance/quality control of technical reports (i.e., tables, analytical, figures, etc.).
    • Provide support to ERG project managers and clients regarding Due Diligence/ESA’s, BEA’s, and Due Care.
    Job Requirements:
    • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, geosciences, or related field.

    Project Manager

    • Professional certification in a related field (PE, PG, LEP, LSP, CHMM) a plus
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification a plus
    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is required

    Desired Experience

    • Proven track record of strong project management performance in environmental consulting or related field
    • Experience in environmental remediation, compliance, and due diligence
    • Experience in petroleum, refinery, terminal and pipelines, railroad, and UST projects, including up to date investigation and remediation technical approaches in Michigan
    • Experience in pushing projects through regulatory programs and negotiating no further action or closure particular to Part 201 or Part 213 regulations, a plus
    • Multi-state regulatory experience with skills advancing projects from new release through final regulatory closure, including use of applicable risk-based closure standards

    Staff Scientist-Data Acquisition Specialist (DAS)

    Job Specific Skills/Duties:
    • Maintain rigorously detailed documentation of field activities
    • Communicate/present conclusions and results in clear written and oral reports
    • Collect environmental data (groundwater, soil, surface water, sediments, and soil vapor)
    • Complete soil core logging and monitoring well installation oversight
