    TITLE:                        Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Geologist

    TriMedia Environmental & Engineering Services, LLC (TriMedia) is accepting applications for an entry level / < 2 years experience Staff Scientist / Engineer / Geologist to join our professional team in Southwest Michigan. TriMedia specializes in environmental consulting, health & safety, industrial hygiene, geospatial data services (GIS), and land surveying, with offices located in Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Montana, and Arizona.     The primary emphasis for this candidate will be performing due diligence services (Phase I / II ESAs, BEAs, Due Care Plans), environmental site and subsurface investigations, geologic / hydrogeologic assessments, remedial system maintenance / support, and assistance with the preparation of proposals, work plans, and reports. This candidate will also be expected to support other TriMedia service areas (health & safety, industrial hygiene, and surveying) and assist with the following activities: utility locating and surveying services of underground utilities, storm water inspection services, and GIS mapping for the Downstate TriMedia Region.

    The ability to travel to any of our various work sites is necessary as work assignments will include both field and office work, including terrain typical of construction sites, within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Participation in a medical surveillance program will be required, and safety training will be provided before being assigned to work. Candidates must be self-motivated and have the ability to make sound practical decisions and adhere to corporate procedures and client service protocols.

    QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
    ·    Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Geology, or related discipline.

    • Willing and able to travel, as needed.
    • Familiar with site assessment / surface investigation processes including drilling and environmental sampling techniques and procedures, data interpretation and evaluation, and the preparation of geologic boring logs, geologic cross-sections and groundwater contour maps.
    • A strong aptitude for meeting deadlines and maintaining project compliance status.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within groups.
    • Possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
    • Completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training.
    • Must pass a physical examination and background check as a condition of employment.

    ABOUT THE POSITION: 

    Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? We expect that the selected candidate will work on a diverse array of complex contaminated site projects throughout the Midwest and the US. The typical project portfolio includes investigation and remediation projects for sites in state voluntary clean-up programs as well as RCRA and CERCLA sites. Projects also include working with industrial clients on a variety of environmental issues including remediation system design and optimization, compliance reporting and remediation waste management.

    Some of the key responsibilities for the junior environmental engineer or geologist position include:

    • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, soil boring logging, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
    • Data analysis, including preparing tables, maps, and figures using AutoCAD, GIS, and/or Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
    • Performing remediation system operation and maintenance services; and,
    • Evaluating chemical and hydrogeological data, including mapping and reporting.

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS in earth science (geology, hydrogeology, or geochemistry) or engineering (environmental or civil preferred) and an academic track record entailing research in contaminated media or geologic/hydrogeologic studies. (required)
    • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
    • Two to five years of work experience. (required)
    • Project experience involving environmental field investigations including groundwater and surface water monitoring and drilling. (preferred)

    Staff Professional – NTH is seeking a staff level engineer, scientist or geologist for a full-time position with our Environmental team in Northville, MI.  The position requires a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in performing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.  Experience with Hazardous Building Materials Survey and Storage Tank Removal is preferred.  MI Asbestos Inspector Certification and 40-Hour HAZWOPER with Annual Refresher also preferred.  Must have strong verbal and written communications, computer and interpersonal skills, and ability to work as a member of a team or individually with minimal supervision.  Sound knowledge of Part 201 and 213 regulations is a plus.  Typical tasks include visual survey, historical records search, subsurface investigations, data review and evaluation, and organizing and writing proposals and technical reports.

    Job Summary
    The Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly talented Ecology Manager for immediate employment in the Cincinnati, OH office. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment. The Cincinnati Impact Assessment and Permitting group conducts a wide variety of projects including environmental field assessments, environmental regulatory permitting, utility siting and licensing, environmental inspection, and many others. Successful candidate will be tasked with managing and growing an ecology team of approximately 5-7 junior- to mid-level ecologists. The group primarily works on projects in Ohio and adjacent states as part of AECOM’s regional ecological group. Periodically there are opportunities to work on projects further than the typical project range if candidate is interested.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Stream, wetland and wildlife habitat assessments
    • Writing wetland delineation reports, function assessments, mitigation plans, and environmental compliance/permitting documents
    • Staff, task, and project management
    • Coordination with various governmental agencies (USFWS, USACE, etc.)
    • Preparing biological evaluations/assessments

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelors of Arts or Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biology or related field
    • 10+ years of data collection, data review, preparation of scientific documents and experience with agency coordination for rare, threatened and endangered species
    • Experience writing, reviewing, and leading wetland delineation reports
    • Must have valid driver's license
    • Knowledge of wetland delineations, stream assessments, technical reports, Section 401/404 permitting and mitigation requirements
    • Experience working with clients (new and existing) and marketing for new business

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience conducting wetland delineations and stream assessments, preferably in Ohio and surrounding states
    • The candidate should have experience leading multiple wetland delineation crews on major projects
    • Experience with use of ArcGIS, Trimble GPS units and Terrasync software, managing tasks and managing personnel on field teams
