    Natural Resource Technology, Inc. (NRT) is seeking an entry-level to mid-level candidate (0 to 2 years) with an understanding of toxicology and risk assessment principles. A minimum of a BS in biology, chemistry, environmental science or related discipline is required to join our Environmental Toxicology and Research team. This is a great opportunity to work as a scientist on toxicology, biodiversity, ecological risk assessment, and natural resource damage assessment studies.

    As an environmental scientist, you will initially engage in data compilation, preliminary analysis, review of scientific literature to identify toxicity effect thresholds, compilation of toxicology information from multiple sources, accurate citing of report references. With experience, the successful candidate will assume responsibilities for coordinating team tasks and priorities, data interpretation, and documenting findings in a clear and concise manner for reports and presentations. There will also be opportunities to represent data analysis in innovative ways, deduce problems and solutions, review calculations and written products of others, and participate in active solution-oriented conversations with a team that is focused on scientific integrity and efficient client service.

    • Basic Qualifications:
    • BS in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or related discipline

    • Michigan regulatory experience a plus

    Work Environment:
    Ability to use a personal computer and its peripherals including keyboard, mouse, and monitors for extended work periods. Ability to sit for an extended work period with frequent hand and/or wrist motion. Ability to lift and carry files, documents, or other items up to 10 pounds. Color vision and depth perception required.

    Position Available

    Full time position available to self-motivated Environmental Professional proficient in completing industry standard Phase I ESAs and Phase II Subsurface Investigations, including soil and groundwater sample collection techniques.  Working knowledge of Michigan’s BEA and Due Care programs preferred. Candidates must understand the components of quality project management and be capable of completing multiple, technically accurate, on time and within budget project assignments. UST/LUST assessment/reporting experience preferred. Business development potential not required but considered a plus.  This is considered a mid-level Project Management position.

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in completing ASTM compliant Phase I ESAs
    • Ability to develop strategic Phase II Subsurface Investigations scopes-of-work designed to assess Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs)

    • Professional Engineering (PE) License in Michigan preferred;
    • Focused expertise in soft-soil mechanics, foundation design, earth retention, slope stabilization, consolidation and ground modification;

    Stormwater Specialist

    This posting is for an intermediate level storm water management professional that will work collaboratively as a member of the University of Michigan Occupational Safety and Environmental Health (U-M – OSEH) Department’s Environmental Protection and Permitting Program (EP3). The primary focus of the position will include, but not be limited to, the overall management of the University’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Permit and other related stormwater compliance issues.
